Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were married this weekend, according to reports in the US media.
The Texan pop star and Fall Out Boy bassist Wentz confirmed their engagement last month and celebrated their nuptials on Saturday at the California home of Simpson's parents, People magazine reports.
A spokesperson for the couple told the magazine: "We're delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married this evening in front of family and close friends."
Simpson's father Joe presided over the non-denominational ceremony and her pop star sister Jessica was maid of honour, while Wentz's bulldog Hemingway was an unorthodox ring-bearer.
It is believed the wedding had an Alice in Wonderland themed reception while guests at the nuptials included Nicole Richie and her boyfriend Joel Madden from the band Good Charlotte, Jessica Simpson's NFL player boyfriend Tony Romo and Scrubs actor Donald Faison.
Simpson, whose new single Outta My Head is released in the UK today, explained on Friday that she had been surprised by her level of excitement for a wedding once she and Wentz were engaged.
"Now that I'm doing it, I definitely have that big dream," the 23-year-old told People.
"It kind of went more fairytale than I thought. I got really into it."
Wentz, 28, was quick to deny rumours last month that Simpson was expecting his baby, saying there was "a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood".
"This is all news to me. I can't wait for the story about how I'm really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover," he said in an email to MTV News.
